Ceasefire of Insanity/Madness: Why?

Many people have asked me why was the blog called Ceasefire of Madness, and then Ceasefire of Insanity. Simple answer: I lost the password, and by the time I could re-claim the title, it was too late to make much of a difference. It had little to do with being another "CoM" abbreviation. I wanted the "benzo war" to stop, but I also wanted to write about other things as well. I also like the subject of medicine in general (clearly) and I thought that the anti-med and anti-vaccine people were losing steam, but I was incorrect, sadly.

My blog's description says it's thinking about: "Science news, skepticism, cults, censorship, quackery and conspiracy theories". Why did I write that as its description? At first glance, they all don't seem to have much in common. They actually have much in common! Science and skepticism often go hand in hand. Most scientists are Atheists, and many like myself, consider some (if not all), religions as "cults" or they have "cult-like traits". Religion begets censorship, which I also highly disagree with. Skeptics bring up quackery and conspiracy theories very often, as well as religion. I am not a well-known "skeptic" by any means. If anything, it has more to do with cults for some reason. Scientologists and LaRouche people visit my blog quite often. I have no idea why-- I've made a few posts about Narconon and LaRouche-type harassment. You'd think they'd use a proxy! CCHR has also visited my blog-- I'm sure they just love it. It makes sense, as I bring up their co-founder, Dr. Peter Breggin, MD frequently. Again-- he says he left CCHR in the early 1970s and disagrees with Scientology, but he has no problem with CCHR quoting him ALL of the time, nor did he have any problem with accepting money from them to help Robert Whitaker's Madness in America book in 2002. See http://wikileaks.org/wiki/Index_Online_Research_Materials_-_Scientology_Front_Groups#CCHR_Books.

I named the blog Ceasefire of Insanity because I was (and still am) angry and outright bewildered at how the "anti-med" people were/are gaining strength. I wondered where people's common sense went. I also thought that there should be someone speaking against all of it, and someone who was not affiliated with any group, pharmaceutical company, etc.-- just an average person, who did not want a dime for anything. I'm not here for popularity, that's for sure. I dislike Gianna Kali for this reason. I can't stand the "Donate Now!" PayPal button on blogs which have almost no effort put into them. Who doesn't like a pretty picture and a positive quote? It doesn't exactly "do it" for me. I don't want any money, and I don't want to be affiliated with any person or group. I don't know what makes her blog so special or popular, or why Robert Whitaker and she are often noted and write on each others blogs. Is it because others can take the blame of whatever mental illness or medication problem/addiction/physical dependency away from themselves? How is that healthy?! And Bliss Johns saying Whitaker, to her knowledge, was a doctor. He's a journalist, a "science/medicine" journalist. Those are his only credentials which I'm aware of. He appears (along with Breggin, Baughman and "the usuals") in the documentary GenerationRx. Weirdest thing-- the documentary thanks CCHR in the credits. Could be an innocent mistake, who knows. You'd never think that CCHR was "bad" by looking at its website or statement/purpose. They hid their direct affiliation with Scientology for quite awhile, and it's still not common knowledge that CCHR= Scientology.

I must admit, it was pretty funny when Baylissa Frederick/Bliss Johns, a top Amazon author from Cardiff, UK came to my blog and threatened to sue me via the Countess of Sandwich, I assume.  I was highly amused by it, and just because I'm full of "negative energy", I brought up her past, such as her quacky certification in one of Louis Haye's programs. Miss Hayes believes that she had gotten cervical cancer due to her not forgiving other people from her past. Bliss Johns did not like my "digging" and said she would not be returning due to my blog's "negative energy, yet someone from Cardiff, UK certainly comes here a lot! I kindly had to remind Bliss Johns that, unlike the UK, the US isn't sue-happy, and if I want to call someone a quack, I'm allowed to, via Federal laws that prevent people from the UK for suing people in the US over such. (I'm not a fan of America by any means, and I disagree with many of our laws and our involvement with other countries. That's a whole other topic in itself, but we're among the very few countries who still execute people, conducts "secret wars", etc. Yet we have SO many laws about obscenity, go figure. You can't say "fuck" on television until after 2 AM, but it's okay to show an attack on Iraq at 8 PM? I'm NOT proud to be a American, the separation of church and state never occurred, and we're not as "free" as the world thinks.) But goddammit, at least I'm allowed to say that these fuckers are full of shit! :-)

The woo just spreads. Most Americans know who Dr. Oz is. He has a daily TV show about health-- another Oprah spin-off. I watched about 5 minutes of the show years ago and thought, what a nut and turned it off. Now I realize he's just our current Celeb Kook MD-- we seem to get one every decade or so. I ran into his website while searching for Adderall shortage. He had an article about Adderall being abused by women between 30-50 years old-- the new "Mother's Little Helper" brand that some have named it. As I have said in a recent blog, I am aware that it can be abused by those without ADHD or Narcolepsy, and I had a friend who did just that-- to keep up with her children and lose weight. Those of us who are prescribed it for legitimate reasons get upset at these kind of people. They're not helping the shortage. The FDA says the pharm. companies aren't making enough; the pharm. companies reply that they can't even MAKE enough due to DEA restrictions. No wonder why the DEA, who should not have an iota of a decision regarding my MD-advised medication, gets involved. And you can only imagine the comments from the article... Mostly they were in favor of using "alternate" routes for ADHD, or natural methods. I believe one woman even said she cured a whole host of diseases via a colon cleanse. You get the idea. Some parents said that their teenagers were prescribed it and they worried about the long-term affects. Are people really this gullible and/or simply stupid? Colonic cleanse? Long-term effects of a medications which is 75% Dexedrine, which has been available since the 1920's--almost 100 years? No medication is "safe", even OTC ones. And people who take Adderall for whatever reason, adults and children, should have a good cardio exam before hand. I bet if they did a good study and people were honest, the true culprits would be Ivy League students-- future MDs, lawyers and CEO's of huge companies. My Rx says "Warning: Instant death could occur". That sounds terrible! Until you look at why they have to put this in the PI sheet (it's not on the bottle, whew): Because people with unknown heart defects had taken it and died, usually children. I agree that children are over-diagnosed with ADHD. Children are naturally hyperactive and impulsive. But for people to say that it turns them into "zombies" "future drug addicts" or "stifles their creativity"-- how is one to respond to such nonsense? Not treating it might turn them into future drug addicts, quite easily. People often think of ADHD being its only applied usage.

They never think of those with Narcolepsy. There were SO many comments akin to "stupid addicts". I'm not sure how the people with severe ADHD or treatment resistant depression deal with the shortage, but at least they have the energy to deal with it/search for it, I would assume. I almost want to write the damn DEA and tell them that they have no business putting a cap on how much pharm. companies can make. Did they consider the people with Narcolepsy? Doubtful. You'd think they'd be more concerned with heroin and meth labs. "It's cocaine!" in the brain, so some say. Wow-- I had no idea, really. I can take 15 mgs and fall right back to sleep. 30 mgs might keep me awake for about 4 hours. So this speed/cocaine comparison is a joke when it comes to Narcolepsy and ADHD. No, we can't take some magical vitamin to fix it. If only vitamin C would correct our damn neurons, trust me, we WOULD use it. We'd rather spend $4 than $60 (and that's for the generic). They're also both neurological disorders and not psychiatric ones. If people would realize that, the stigma of many things just may disappear a bit.

Some Americans watch this BS show every day and don't see a problem with it? No wonder why the woo goo is spreading. I always ask, what happened to common sense? I'm now calling for a ceasefire of woo. The benzo hatred needs to end, as well as ALL of the anti-medication "groups". They're NOT helping anyone. Wise up, people. No one has defined my feelings about America, being informed and common sense so well as the following video:

    2. Oh, who knows. I don't know why he commented on here again. Rania/Drama Llama/Anon? Who the hell knows. Not that I mind if he does/ does not. It's a control tactic. Like I should be grateful that he comments here? The funny thing is that I control if the deleted comment notification stays up or down, so he's making himself look manic.

If I were to make a guess: He wants me to take down very old stuff about him on here, and I said while ago that I was not going to do so-- it's a part of my life. Yes, I know the anti-LaRouche website @ http://laroucheplanet.info/pmwiki/pmwiki.php has my blog referenced. I assume he wants it down so it can't be referenced and gets a 404. And my reply to that request has always been NO. I think those who decide to use LaRouche harassment tactics against someone else should be prepared for the outcome when it doesn't work.

The comment he deleted had something to do with him making a deal with Comi and Donna on BE. I was mistaken-- it was C who made the deal with Comi. He said my "info" was incorrect. My info isn't incorrect-- I forgot that the PM (lulz) was between C and Comi, not him. M59 thought I also took down my blog awhile ago for Colin from BB. Uh, not quite!

I made a reply comment last night, but my VPN is funky and auto-connects, which refuses my connection to Blogger and browsers in general, so it was never posted.

If I have enough energy (it's 8 PM, but I woke up late), and I don't have other things to do (which I do, but laundry? Eh, it can wait), I will make a blog. I saved the comment from last night that I wrote anyways (I knew the VPN kicked on) so it's pretty much already written.

  2. What happened to people? I don't think people are getting less intelligent. Perhaps less challenged or motivated? I can take a guess that during the Cold War era, America's science program seemed to have gone from physics and chemistry to "natural sciences", mainly astronomy. Great... But what are the chances that many are going to become Astronauts? Almost NONE. That's the generation that had to have regular nuclear bomb threat drills, so I can see why the idea didn't take off very well.
I think Colin's intentions were to create something less restrictive than TRAP, and he's told me himself that he dislikes shaky science. At some point, and I wouldn't know when as I was only a member for 3 months, things got out of hand, but it was before I joined. The original idea was to offer support, "advice" that was not "prescriptive", just an area to throw ideas around. Somehow, a few people with severe MI's started to spread these strange theories about food and almost anything else you can think of "revving" up sxs. I suggested an "Anti-Quack" mod. Someone to gently steer away these kind of "benzo conspiracy" type thinking.
I won't get into your "war" between BB and destroying it, and just like Drama Llama, take it somewhere else! You often forget that the members who died often weren't members of BB, and were also members of other groups, including Donna's BE. And she and Comi made a deal with you-- they'd allow you on, as long as you left them off your blog. I'd call that cowardice on their parts. And, I've read your advice on BE. It wasn't terrible at all. "We" are in the upper categories of benzo use, and while our "agendas" are totally different, I'm sure we could have been very useful. We might not understand those trying to get off of 2 mgs of Valium, but that's not our choice. It's pretty difficult to compare coming off of 240+ mgs of V (or it's wacky equivalent) to 2 mgs of V. Donna gets a pass, but Colin doesn't? Colin never had a Flumaz. detox over 2 mgs of Klonopin, and he's generally been upfront. I can't say the same for Donna. I just *know* she's got something to do with the new BW as well, and I'm sure you realize that as well. Who cares? I kind of do. I don't think anyone having anything to do with a forum should have even considered the Flumaz. detox. It might be possible in the future, but it needs more research behind it.
I don't think BB started off with bad intentions, nor do I agree that Colin himself abuses anyone, but what happens when you get a few thousand people together that mistrust medicine and MDs? You know the answer-- bizarre advice and a lot of whining. Are other members reckless? Clearly. Is Dr. Ashton? Yes, I believe she *really* is, even if it was not her intention. Panic Disorder created by Upjohn, eh? Riiiight. She's anti-drug, and she seems somehow unhappy that benzos replaced barbs? Strange.

Where's the forum that says it's TOTALLY OKAY to remain on benzos if you're not up-dosing or abusing them? I'm sure it doesn't exist. (Yet)

Me? I'm doing the exact opposite of whatever I read in the Ashton Manual and on any benzo forum. I'm resetting my receptors with caffeine, MSG, "fake" sugar, and I'm taking an "upper", at a fairly high dose. I'm doing the exact opposite, yet I somehow take MUCH less benzos and my anxiety has also decreased substantially. Hmm.

    1. Okay, the reply I was going to make into a blog, but you know, a pipe bursting in your damn living room and having your electricity shut off and on for a few days gets in the way... Here it is:

WHOA-- Calm down, cowboy. And now you're deleting your comments? Hmm, you get defensive when I mention Donna and the fact that you don't attack the new BW. Just making observations... I could also care less. But you see, I get dragged back into this. Who knows why. I rarely visit BB or your blog, and everyone knows I don't use proxies. So you and Colin could say "Yes, she couldn't care less and maybe visits 1x every 2-3 weeks, if that"!

Yes, you're correct. It was C who made the deal with Comi. If we go by Ahston's equivalence, I take between 0-60 mgs of a Valium equivalence a day. AKA, 0-3 mgs of Kpins. They were allegedly eating my brain tissue at 1.5 mgs. What can I say? I like to keep my GABAa receptors guessing. I'm going to write a study, get an fMRI and submit to it to NIH. I need a control. Maybe I'll have Lader be my control. Forgive my memory, these super high doses and all. :)

Yep, Colin wants/wanted me to apologize, specifically for two things. I cannot email the person, so I told him to apologize for me, and I hope he did, somehow, because I should have apologized. The other, I assume, is for telling Hope "Life's inflammatory. Fuck off". But... I kind of like that phrase, I made it up on the spot, and it's true-- life isn't fair. Why did I have to "walk on eggshells" for those who were "too sensitive" to hear a curse word? Or the slight mention of suicide being a side effect? I'm pretty sure I hit a button that said "I am 18 or above" when I joined BB. I apologized for both, anyways. Some people think cursing is a sin-- I don't think it should offend adults, but blah, blah, religion.

What I did NOT do was make a "public apology". I don't feel sorry for offering LOGICAL non-quack advice. Why would anyone apologize for wanting to help others? I have apologized to the people that I have directly hurt, and they know that. I cannot apologize for trying to help others and help them make sense of things. Think about it: If I made made all legitimate apologies, a "public apology" would serve what purpose other than an attempt to humble me, control me, and take back my principals, which harm none?

Hrmm... No thanks. I'll keep my integrity.

Colin didn't have anything to do with me removing my blog, if that's what you mean.
I removed it for someone's well-being. Colin never suggested it to me, nor have we emailed each other in... months? And I'm sure he loves my Anti-Ashton opinions.
